Gillian Price con Walking in the Dolomites: 25 Multi Day Routes in Italy's Dolomites (International Walking)
Guidebook to 25 multi-day walks in the Dolomites of northern Italy, covering 15 regions including Cortina, Sella, Sesto, Marmolada and Latemar. The graded routes range from 11.3km and 40.8km and take between two and four days to complete. The majority of the routes are circular, though a handful of extended traverses are also included. Detailed route descriptions are presented alongside mapping and stunning colour photography and the guide also suggests alternative access and exit routes, and options for linking routes to create a longer trek. Best walked between June and October, the selected routes are suitable for walkers with a reasonable level of fitness who are confident on typical rocky alpine terrain to those experienced on steep and exposed mountainous terrain. This guidebook includes a number of treks in less frequently visited rugged districts, as well as the more popular trips, all of which take advantage of the region's network of mountain refuges and efficient public transport system, with the majority of routes accessible by public bus.
